Edwin E. Morales is a distinguished graduate of the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York. He received his medical degree from The University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed his internship in general surgery at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington followed by a deployment overseas. He then completed residency in Urologic Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. During his residency, he was the recipient of the academic excellence award as well as the Willet. F. Whitmore Memorial Scholar at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. He furthered his training at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center for a fellowship in Urologic Oncology in Houston then returned to UTHSCSA to complete his oncology fellowship in order to be with his family. He was appointed Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine, and served three years as staff urologic oncologist at Brooke Army Medical Center before leaving the military to spend more time with his family.

His scientific research has centered on the role of the androgen axis in the pathogenesis of bladder cancer as well as the role of novel immunobiologics in treating those cancers. His work has been published in such prestigious journals as the European Journal of Urology, Oncoimmunology, and Urologic Oncology.

He is married to Lacy J. Morales, a certified critical care Registered Nurse, and together they have five wonderful children. In his spare time he enjoys traveling with his family, exploring new cuisines, wine tasting, bodybuilding, and anything to do with red meat.”
