This is a draft, work-in-progress, video produced during Greveniti residency, 2019. The title* is borrowed from the science fiction novel by American writer Philip K. Dick (1968). The video examines possible ways that smart technology could respond to the physical landscape.What if our machines are not just passive receivers of sounds and images but become also sensitive to what they hear and see? We are so depended on them and on their daily use but consider them just desensitised tools in our service. Do we ever think how they would feel? If they too develop 'percepts and affects'(What is Philosophy? 1991 Deleuze & Guattari) in the view of an idyllic landscape? Do they also sense nature and long for a countryside escape? Are we perhaps after all less sensitive than they are? Since we, most of the times, sense through them, as they get the first look and we just end up contemplating through their eyes?
