About the speaker:
Dr. Mónica Haydeé Ramos is a first-generation doctoral graduate, immigrant, and mother. To her, mentoring meant “a log to cling on in the middle of a swirling river.” Diverse mentoring was a compass to navigate her new life in the US better. She strives to be a role model for students of color.
Throughline: Mentoring can be unfamiliar to many immigrants, first-generation professionals. Educator Dr. Mónica Haydeé Ramos walks us through her struggles navigating higher education and the professional field as she tells her story on her newfound relationship with diverse mentorship.
