The destination is the Chic Choc mountain range located on the Gaspe Peninsula in northern Quebec Canada. According to the United Nations, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and Protect Our Winters (POW): the jet stream (the one that controls much of the climate patterns in North America) is slowly moving farther North, taking much of the heavy snowfalls it brings with it. A decrease in Snow Covered Area by up to 36% in North America has been documented for the past decade or so with the end result being up to a 76% decrease of snow days in New England by 2100. Many of these bummers are due to anthropogenic climate change. Ultimately, this means that powder-hounds and truffle pigs like my friend and I are going to have to search farther and higher to find our beloved face shots.
