Although many people would not know it, beer is a women’s business. For many cultures across the world brewing and fermentation was traditionally a women’s craft.

As brewing become more commercialised, the practice became limited to men. Traditional craft was demonised and the female “brewsters” become evil witches. “Women who know too much” were cast from their trade. To this day, women are discouraged from scientific fields.

This piece is an exploration of the binaries that exist a “good” and “bad” woman in society. Using rollerdance and robotics we hope to break down the barrier between “science” and “magic”and demystify technology.
