‘Ascendency’ is a big flower painting of three beautiful irises by Anita Nowinska. It’s the biggest painting she had created up to that time at 150cm high. Anitas flower paintings are known for having a calming & energising effect & bringing wellbeing to the spaces they hang in. In this video Anita is painting the irises in oil on canvas & describing from the inspiration of seeing them in a summer garden the process of what this particular painting generated. It’s all about letting nature sooth you & being present & mindful of beautiful moments, which you can then use to help you feel peaceful & relaxed when life get tougher.
You see images of the gorgeous irises Anita has photographed & sketched and time lapse footage of the painting process to create this big floral artwork.
Anita often uses nature as a form of meditation to capture nature’s energy in her work. The painting is also an all consuming process & the outcome are flower paintings which have been known to have really powerful effects of wellbeing for the viewer.
