In this session, we look at and explore the hamstring muscle group and the functional integrity of the Uttanasana Posture. Uttanasana is intended to be an "intense stretch" of the entire "back-line" of the body. All too often, yoga teachers cue their students to "bend the knees" as opposed to learning how to support their students with the use of props. In this session, we'll look at why bending the knees doesn't honor the anatomical integrity of the pose and look at ways to adapt the posture to meet students bodies where they are.
