In the weeks to come, Calvary Chapel Stone Mountain will be monitoring the coronavirus situation and updating our church schedule accordingly. As you’ve heard, this outbreak has reached a pandemic level, and steps are being taken across every area of society to limit people’s exposure to the virus. As followers of Jesus, we are committed to both the spiritual and physical health of the people around us. We want to be responsible members of our community.

This past week I’ve monitored the suggestions that are coming from the CDC and from our Gwinnett County Health Department. “Social distancing” is the watchword being stressed by our public health officials. This includes the postponing of larger gatherings of people.

To comply with these recommendations Calvary Chapel Stone Mountain will NOT be gathering this Sunday, March 15, Wednesday, March 18, or next Sunday, March 22. We are encouraging everyone to stay home and watch our service via Livestream. You can access the livestream by going to; then click on “watch live.”

This Sunday, we will be online live at 9:30 AM and then re-air our service at 11:15 AM and 7:00 PM Sunday night. We encourage everyone to join us for worship this Sunday and next. This coming Wednesday, we’ll come online at 7:00 with worship and our new Shortcut College series, “God’s Covenants.” Through the Livestream, we’ll keep our eyes on Jesus and be strengthened through His Word. We can practice social distancing, while maintaining a spiritual connection.

Also, if you want to worship the Lord through your tithes and offerings, and support your church financially, you can mail your check to the church (1969 McDaniels Bridge Rd., Lilburn, GA 30047), or give online at, or click on the tab “Give.” Obviously, church expenses will remain the same, and your faithfulness is much appreciated through this time.

Our small groups will continue to meet according to schedule – this Saturday’s Mens Prayer meeting, Monday’s Free Indeed, and Monday’s After Group. For the status of our other small groups, including High School and Middle School, please contact the group leader.

I’m sure we all agree that there is no substitute for actual, real-life fellowship, but we’re thankful we live in a day where we can connect through technology. Let’s pray this crisis ends soon, and we can return to our normal schedule.

In these uncertain times, let’s continue to pray for one another, and look for opportunities to share the hope of Jesus with our family, friends, and neighbors. I believe we’re living in the last days. Jesus is coming soon. In trying times, people look for spiritual answers. And we have the ultimate answer… His name is Jesus!
