In commemoration of the Illinois LGBTQ-Inclusive Curriculum Law going into effect on July 1, 2020, we have created this video composite of several diverse and historically significant LGBTQ figures to introduce the new education program. The Legacy Project has partnered with Equality Illinois, Public Health Institute of Illinois, and Illinois Safe Schools Alliance to develop new teaching tools for all Illinois public schools. This video takes you on a journey back to the Legacy Project’s creation through some amazing eras in history right up to this moment in time… the unqualified realization of a dream we had so long ago to give LGBTQ youth the knowledge that people like them matter – and have always mattered. Because our kids need role models, too.
