A Conversation with Jen Jortner-Cassidy
Episode # 48
Self Compassion for the Job Seeker

Join me as I have a conversation with LinkedIn Learning Professional Jen Jortner-Cassidy. I asked for her best advice on how to navigate job searching in this pandemic world. She offers great advice on how to cultivate and tell your professional story through reflective exercises and getting feedback from a trusted friend or mentor. For more on contemplative writing practices that explore your personal narrative see the links below.

Jen reminds us to “Nurture our Networks” and keep our social connections strong even though we are in this unusual lockdown situation. When the self-talk turns negative, she recommends we “flip the narrative” and turn our attention to the gifts we have to share with the world. She reminds us to take good care of our selves and keep a “Smile File” to lift up up when your having a hard day. Most importantly, take time to transition from your workalike to your personal life, even though it may all be happening at home right now. Take some time to “do nothing”, to reset and remember we are human.

Please hit the SUBSCRIBE button, LIKE, and SHARE it helps me to be able to keep bringing these practices for free. You can’t always tell what people are going through but there is always some burden every person carries. So SHARE, your act of kindness can make a difference
