Congratulations to Farzana Choudhury (LLM Legal Practice (Hons) ’16, G. Dip Legal Practice ’14) who has been named the 2020 Young Alumna of the Year for her work raising awareness of some of the ACT’s most disadvantaged people through her legal education programs.
Farzana currently runs Canberra Community Law’s Disability Discrimination Law service, and was Senior Solicitor of Street Law, a program of Canberra Community Law, which provides outreach legal services for people experiencing homelessness. She established Street Law’s health justice partnership, and has worked with health practitioners and youth work staff to address the unmet legal needs of young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
