So grateful to film this elopement of Grace + Hans. Grace and Hans are travelers by nature which made for a wonderful trek to the top of Taft Point which overlooks Yosemite Valley.

Yosemite is HUGE! We stayed at Autocamp Yosemite in an airstream a few hundred feet away from the couple and their friends who made the journey from all over the U.S. Literally everyone involved family and friends traveled from the East Coast or the South. Thats dedication and true love/friendship!

The morning of the elopement we did a first look at autocamp, then traveled for a few hours to a meadow across El Capitan.

Sidenote: Grace and Hans happen to live in the apartment complex next to ours. The week leading up to the elopement there was fires in Yosemite and the gate we were suppose to take to get to Taft Point was actually closed. Almost to the point where we were thinking of alternative places to go because of the smoke. Yosemite is massive and the other routes would have caused a huge detour/delay.... the gate opened the morning of the elopement. whew!

Now back to the story.

The meadow across El Capitan is amazing, obviously, and is filled with many people. Many of which were there to scale the beastly mountain. It can also get quite confusing to navigate in that area, especially for us millennials lol. Make sure you have your GPS set in advanced because we had no service in this area.

After the meadow we drove to the Taft Point trail. From there it's about a mile hike to Taft Point itself. Totally worth it as you can see. The views from here are second to none, even with the little bit of smokey haze. We lucked out!
