In a two-day workshop architecture students from Chalmers ACE and building craft students from Gothenburg University worked together in a process where local material was investigated and contextualised by local development initiatives in the Swedish town Mariestad. By working transdisciplinary, the functional and aesthetic qualities of three local materials were explored. These qualities were then used in the experimental development of construction component prototypes. While developing these, reflections were made on potential industrial processes.
