Wakestock 2008, the WWA Wakeboard World Series at Toronto Island, Ontario. This was Wakestock 11 (of 17) featuring the most progressive wake boat contest in the world to date, perhaps ever, with integrated rails in the Malibu Pro Expression; a dedicated boat-pulled Billabong Rail contest; and the world debut of the Sesitec 2.0 cable for the Oakley Pro Wakekate Jib Pool . . . another game-changer for the sport! The Pro Expression was won by Canada’s Rusty Malinoski and the Pro Rail was won by Canada’s Aaron Rathy who also took 3rd in the Expression. Another showcase for Canadian pros in front of over 30,000 fans! American Phil Soven snagged 2nd in Pro Expression. Americans Collin Harrington and JD Webb grabbed 2nd and 3rd respectively in Pro Rail. In Pro Wakeskate Boat it was Stuart Shinn with the win followed by Brian Grubb and Reed Hansen.

The event was broadcast live nationally on Much Music and featured 20 bands on 2 stages headlined by Metric and Wu Tang Clan's RZA & GZA. The 4 day festival included Canada's largest amateur wake contest, one of the country’s biggest pro-am skateboard contests, pro fmx demo, a massive boardsports retail expo and nightly parties in downtown Toronto. Kudos to Wakestock founder Steve Jarrett and crew: Adam Levitt, Bill Jones, Todd Elsley Patrick Panokos, Zeke Meyers and Peter Jones on another iconic Wakestock!
