We ran from the tear gas and gathered across the street. As we took a breath, the musicians quickly tuned up and launched into song while walls of cops in full swat gear threatened protesters. Many families with children yelled, “Hands up, don’t shoot!” Another small contingent of musicians held off the cops for a short while. This group on the grass raised some powerful healing energy until dark. Traffic honked in supportive harmony.
