Inspired by Baudelaire's, A une a Malabraise, (To a lady of Malabar), the artist is portrayed wearing traditional Somali clothing over her contemporary tattoos. She is preparing to sleep close to the ground in a dark doorway.
A beautiful and haunting traditional Kenyan lullaby forms the sound piece that surrounds her as she sleeps, echoing the fears and triumphs of all Women who are trying to make a new home in the west.
