This is the design documentation for USYD IDEA Pilot Lights Final Project "Theatre for You."

'Theatre For You' was designed to create a playful and engaging interactive space at the Footbridge Gallery on the campus of the University of Sydney. It utilises a Kinect camera sensor to capture users‘ contours and presents them in an artistic silhouette of colourful particles, thereby incorporating the users as part of the artwork.

The falling objects in five different shapes (circle, star, heart, triangle, and square) change the colours of the particles and set off a firework effect as well as a pentatonic scale of notes in a higher pitch when they come into contact with users’ silhouettes. When reaching the bottom of the screen, the falling objects also create the same scale of notes in a lower pitch respectively, which together compose a mellifluous melody.

The interactive design also engaged an LED matrix known as the 'Dash Wall' at Footbridge Gallery to create a responsive and spectacular interactive public space filled with light and sound.
