I wrote this on the eve of the US invasion of Iraq in 2003 which I opposed and still do. But I could have just as easily written it on the eve of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Old men keep sending off young men to kill and be killed for power and money.

I stand with the people of Ukraine and president Zelensky against Putin's unprovoked and unjustified invasion of their country.

This song was part of my musical play "When books Begin to Burn" which was performed at underground theater space Mary Majak in New Orleans in 2017.
