The Moment in Uganda That Marked Me.
This was my first day in Uganda. After all the greetings and tours around their home, all the children led us to their small village field to play soccer with their new soccer ball. Finally we headed towards their relatives' homes up the hill along groves of banana and avocado trees, led by a parade of children gripping onto any free areas of our limbs. Not knowing exactly whose house we were going to, we finally reached grandma's house, the glue and pillar to this family. Everyone packed into her little living room and the entire family started singing and praising the Lord. I sat there in awe of how good our God is. I marveled at how detailed He worked for over 15 years to this very day; in this town, with this family, in this home. I struggled to hold back tears as I thought "God is in this place" while listening to each voice and seeing the glow in their eyes as, they too, came to realization of the mighty work of the Lord.
We have only experienced the surface of what God has planned for us and our Ugandan family. This moment has marked me and I know that as we continue to partner with the Lord to serve our Ugandan family, He will continue to blow us away with moments like this one.
