There are melodies that don't stop playing in the head whether you are awake or trying to sleep. 'Light' is heard more than a few times in The Thin Red Line, and it complements the deeply philosophical underpinnings of the film, making it ever so memorable.
This track was composed by Hans Zimmer and conducted by Gavin Greenaway. Quite a bit of Hans Zimmer's future music (post the Thin Red Line), be it in Pearl Harbor or Black Hawk Down, reflects some inspiration from work in this film. Light was playing in my head for two days straight and so I was moved to compile a montage video on a bit of it from a deeply impacting journey across Spiti in 2016.
