From one of the three best Beatles albums ever recorded, Revolver, this is the final track, "Tomorrow Never Knows" written by John Lennon. George Harrison was largely responsible for creating the Eastern or "Indian" sound the Beatles began using in 1965 with Lennon's song, "Norwegian Wood." The use of both the sitar or lead guitar riffs that sounded like sitar music came out of the creative genius of George who also wrote most of the material inspired by Indian music ("Taxman," "Love You To," "Within You Without You," "Blue Jay Way," etc). Yet, ironically, the one song that best captures that sound and merges it with a psychedelic element was John's classic, heard here, from Revolver. Reversed guitar loops also added to the sound, and were the first use of the device in rock history. The song became hugely popular among the community of LSD users and is considered "the most effective evocation of an LSD experience ever recorded."
Whatever the case, it is one of my favorite Beatles songs, and one of my favorite Lennon songs as well.
