Hi. I'm Linda Ratcliff bringing you a Habit for your Healthy Music Habitat.
My husband and I manage a 55+ community and we also live where we manage. So there's people at our door all the time with questions, comments, complaints, requests. Then, in addition, we have the phone that we sleep with. And it rings all the time with comments, questions, complaints.
So the only way to get a break is to give the phone to our assistant manager, and get in the car, and just leave the property.
Now, you're not going to believe I'm telling you this, but now and then you just need to take a break from your music too. What happens is your brain has time to process what your hands have been trying to learn.
Then when you come back and pick up your instrument, it's like riding a bike. The brain tells your hands what it's processed, and you're more easily able to do what you've worked on so hard.
