Nacho texted me in December to tell me he wanted to take me with him to London to film a music video for his song “Wasted Love”. I didn’t doubt it and my Canon 518 SV and me went with him. The only thing we had planned was “no plans”. We just meander around and did whatever we wanted to.

At the end of the first day I realised there was a problem with the pull mechanism of the film which meant that there was a possibility we hadn’t filmed ANYTHING. FUCK.

Luckily, we could find another camera to continue filming even though I wasn’t very sure about using a camera I hadn’t use before. On8mil provided us with more film and we went back to Madrid happy, having read the “EXPOSED” label in the 7 rolls of film.

BUT we didn’t count on the fact that December and January are complicated months to trust the turnaround times. The deadline came and, to our dismay, we had to deliver a video made with digital footage I had filmed as a backup because developing and digitizing couldn’t be done on time. At least Nacho had something to publish.

The Super8 footage arrived much later and I couldn’t help but scratch the itch. A pandemic and several months later I’ve managed to finish and the result is quite close to what I originally imagined. A project that stretches out so much in time looses some freshness but now I have the satisfaction of having finished it and having a beautiful memory of a great trip with friends
