‘Slow Rush’ is the social commentary of my observations of the juxtaposition of atmospheres experienced during the London Underground Rush Hour. Shot on 35mm Kodak Portra, this installation piece aims to explore and encapsulate the beauty of the rush hours meditative flow of masses, an unseen natural murmuration, that has moments of stillness and calm amongst its energetic mania. When observing the wider view of frantic rushing crowds, you become witness to a choreography of flowing numbers meandering through thetunnels in unison, beyond the stampeding feet and passing trains, you hear a low fluttering of breaths. Within the ebbs and flows there is stillness, meditation, a beauty of calm. The station platform and the train itself become a moment of still, where the numbers, stop and breathe, often silently listening to music through headphones or absorbed within their phones. ‘SlowRush’ Is the documentation of the moments of stillness, breathing, waiting ... Within the noisy beast of London rush hour.
