Sinforya is an expression of sound and vision of two young creative minds who take inspirations from nature, people, visual and sonic arts. First of all, a group of graphic canvases were inspired by music, especially the concept of a large musical composition called symphony which consists of several distinct movements written for an orchestra. Secondly, a piece of music in three parts was composed to accompany the canvases and create a unique exhibition atmosphere. Lastly, we decided to combine these two mediums to create what became Sinforya- synthesis of graphic design and sound.
Our work depicts the idea of personal development grounded in the age of rapid urbanisation and globalisation. We invite our spectator to step in the shoes of a young person who walks through castles of illusion (part I) and gets overwhelmed by the scene of urban grandeur and opportunities that await behind its shimmering facade. However, high hopes are faced which challenges becoming yet another part of a grey mass distanced from self- consciousness and genuine human values. Visuals and music create the impression of getting overwhelmed, confused, as well as tempted by the material world (part II). This process is also encoded in the title of our work: sin-for -ya (sin for you). We suggest that vital choices and changes in life are often induced by a major crisis or a tipping point in life. To be able to experience catharsis in the end we have to resist any sins and overindulgence in pleasure. Finally, (part III) depicts finding our own temple of mind where we learn to be true to ourselves and kind to others. SINFORYA is the emotional and spiritual journey through consciousness of sin into consciousness of happiness.
