According to absurdism, human beings –though they impulsively seek meaning in life– have a very low capacity to achieve pure meaning. Quitting the search for meaning is as impossible as conquering it. Us humans can only feel secure when we believe in meanings we assign to our surroundings. Assigning meaning takes place based on stimulation of the senses, which are major instruments of perception. That's why improving our senses is one of the best ways to help humanity in its absurd search.

One of the ways to improve our senses would be stimulating them simultaneously. Art forms and technology have been interacting with each other and transforming for centuries. Each intersection has offered a new perception and provided a new point of view. New forms of artistic expression/perception have been attached to technology with an umbilical cord as a result of using electricity and electronic devices for two centuries. Contemporary junctures of the forms and senses offer us endless opportunities.

“Rhythm of the lower-angle” aims to illustrate the fragile boundaries between visual and aural forms with reference to how spending time with developed technologies impacts our perception.  Whatever we see around us has a melody; every vibration creates another image and every illuminated pattern creates another universe to explore. Thus, to create an example for our main idea we transformed the patterns of lights(reflects from buildings) that we come across onto Ableton manually. For each floor an instrument had been defined and located from left to right.

During the exhibition, printed photos of the buildings supported with QR codes to allow the hear the rhythms and melodies that arrived.

This project also had been exhibited in Sónar+D Istanbul 2019:
