Conceived of by Tom Truss and co-created with Matthew Cumbie, and an interdisciplinary creative team, ReWritten explores the life and works of- and intimate relationship between- American authors Herman Melville and Nathaniel Hawthorne. Based on their lives, work, and the still-existing correspondence between them, ReWritten uses movement, music, visual art, projection and text to reimagine an intergenerational queer love story that shaped American literature when a country was still forming.
