An Elementary School Classroom in a Slum was written by Stephen spender in late 1950s. It was surprising how a poem based in 20th century England was still relevant to school in India. How eerily the expressions of those children seemed to be lock in time.
'Repeat After Me' is the story of twenty children who set aside everything when they enter the classroom. The dingy room, the blackened walls or the open sewer, nothing can take away the innocence in these children's eyes. They come from extreme poverty, but their pursuit of education stops at nothing. Coming to school every day is an act of hope for each of them. Hope for a change. A change in their living conditions, a change in their lifestyle and a change in their life.
Shot in real time.
