Toronto Tabla Ensemble presents ‘Raghupati’ a new single and music video. Ritesh Das, Founder and Artistic Director of the Ensemble reimagines a landscape of harmony, peace and unity.
This song has great significance for Indians bringing sentiment to the unity encouraged by Mahatma Gandhi during the challenges of colonization during the 24 day long Salt March in 1930. This song is revived by the Ensemble bringing a new positive energy to the composition.
The track presents a synchronized collaboration with powerful vibrations of footwork from Kathak Dance, a compelling foundation of tabla percussion, resonating vocals, and the beginnings of melodic sarod instrument accompanied by the flute.
