Republika Środkowoafrykańska leżąca w samym sercu afrykańskiego kontynentu to jedno z najzasobniejszych w bogactwa naturalne państw tego regionu będące równocześnie jednym z najbiedniejszych krajów świata.
Czytając o nim można jednak natrafić głównie na komunikaty dotyczące grup rebelianckich, które w 2013 roku przeszły przez ten kraj, rabując, gwałcąc, zabijając i paląc wszystko na swojej drodze i zapoczątkowując brutalną, wciąż tlącą się miejscami wojnę domową.
Wydawać by się mogło, że dorastanie w takim kraju nie ma specjalnych perspektyw i że większość dzieci czeka wcielenie do wojska, grup rebelianckich lub ciężka praca fizyczna.
Jednak dzięki sercu i ciężkiej pracy misjonarzy powstają miejsca, w których tutejsze dzieci mogą rozwijać swoje talenty i otrzymują możliwość nauki. Jednym z takich miejsc jest placówka African Music School - miejsce, w którym dzieci z najuboższych rodzin otrzymują profesjonalną edukację muzyczną, a tym samym szansę na zapomnienie o trudach codzienności i nadzieję na normalne życie. Autorem projektu jest br. Benedykt Pączka, którego marzeniem jest budowa pierwszej szkoły muzycznej w tym kraju.
Kilka miesięcy temu mieliśmy szansę odwiedzić tę szkołę, poznać jej uczniów oraz brata Benedykta. Spojrzeliśmy na realia tutejszej codzienności oczami dwójki uczniów tej szkoły - Hipolita i Godara oraz zobaczyliśmy przygotowania do koncertu na rzecz pokoju, w którym dzieci z African Music School zagrały z muzykami koncert dla lokalnej społeczności.

The Central African Republic is a country located in the heart of the African continent. It is one of the wealthiest countries in the region in terms of natural resources and at the same time belongs to the poorest countries of the world.
When you read about this place, you can come across many news related mainly to the rebel groups, which in 2013 passed through this country, robbing, raping, killing and burning everything in its path and initiating a brutal civil war.
It would seem that growing up in such a place has no special prospects and that most children are just waiting to be caught into the army, get involved with rebel groups or be forced to hard physical labor.
However, thanks to the big hearts and hard work of missionaries, there are being created places where local children can develop their talents and receive the opportunity to learn. One of such places is the African Music School - a place where children from the poorest families receive professional music education, and thus a chance to forget about the hardships of their everyday life. The initiator of this project is brother Benedykt Pączka and his dream is to build the first music school in this country.
A few months ago we had the chance to visit this school, meet its students and brother Benedykt. We looked at the realities of everyday life through the eyes of two students - Hipolit and Godar and saw preparations for a Concert for Peace in which children from African Music School played with the musicians for the local community.
