33 Jaar geleden vond ik in de boekenkast van de vrouw die mijn ex zou worden een dichtbundel. "Scottish Love Poems". In het vagevuur van ontrouw en liefde smeulde het gedicht "love song" van Edwin Muir en met de net verworven aarzelende vaardigheden op de piano componeerde ik muziek die zichzelf schreef. Jouw gezicht. Mijn liefdesbrief was een cassettebandje, de gedichten bleven achter. Na jaren herinnerde ik mij nog steeds het eerste couplet en flarden van het tweede.
Geen enkel zoekpoging leverde resultaat omdat ik de naam van de schrijver kwijt was. Nog geen maand geleden vond ik zijn naam en de hele tekst. Ik nam het lied opnieuw op, 33 jaar later.
Ik vond jouw gezicht in een oude Italiaanse film. Ik vond de ontroering en de wanhoop van 33 jaar terug in het gezicht van Catherine Spaak in "La Parmigiana".
