So this was last night. Like other nights, I came home and felt really exhausted - mentally and physically. This worsened when I read the news that US District Court judge Michael Mosman refused a restraining order against the feds in Portland. This morning Bear put on music, and we danced to the Rolling Stones. And I really wanted to cut this video to “Let’s spend the night together” but then I would lose all the amazing sounds of the protesters and drums. Not to mention you wouldn’t hear the compression grenades and tear gas shot at protesters. The feds came out early last night, perhaps around 10:30 PM. Apparently they didn’t like that people were rattling the gate. You’ll also hear a loud whirring sound, and those are the leaf blowers. There was so much teargas last night, it was insane. I can’t imagine what this is doing to the nature surrounding that area. I know the crows don’t stick around. I’ve checked. They do fly around at dusk, and it’s real beautiful to see as people are singing, chanting, and playing drums. Look, people need to stand up because there are mothers, military vets, chefs, and healthcare workers out there but it’s not enough. I want my baby and all young people to grow up in a much-much-much better world. We can do so much better than this. Bring democracy back!
