The pop-up pieces for school rooms or public spaces created within the framework of explore dance – Netzwerk Tanz für junges Publikum are mobile and adaptable – they offer ideal conditions for the currently limited performance possibilities. This is why these pieces could also be presented in the reduced form of the originally planned festival. The core piece of the two-day pop up feature in Munich was the showcase, which presented the ideas and work methods of some of the pop up pieces of explore dance, including a work by Anna Konjetzky (MOVE MORE MORPH MORPH IT!), the Munich debut of deufert&plischke (spinnen) as well as a film and interview on Ceren Oran’s Fliegende Wörter (Flying Words). In a lecture, Peggy Olislaegers talked about rethinking codes and spatial structures with regard to pop-up formats. The theatre maker and dance activist spans various disciplines, themes, and target groups in her work.

FLIEGENDE WÖRTER
It all starts with a sound, transforms to rhythm then to music.. the dancers can’t wait to move on the music… the words, chained to each other, fly around and create different melodies, choreographies, images, moods…

„Fliegende Wörter“ is a joyful contemporary dance, composed and performed by two dancers and one musician. The three artists use different word chains to develop a surreal flow and their associations become music and dance. At the end they go through a playful, creative journey and performance with each other and with the children, as they transform an “all day” space in their school to a magical land scape…

Funded by TANZPAKT Stadt-Land-Bund with the support of the German Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, the Municipal Department of Arts and Culture Munich and the BLZT, financed by the Bavarian Ministry for Arts and Education, as well as the city of Potsdam and the ministry for science, research and culture of the federal state of Brandenburg. For explore dance Fokus Tanz cooperates with Tanztendenz München e.V. and HochX Theater und Live Art.
