This was written rambling around, playing mandolin and singing in San Francisco circa '75. But the song really took shape in 1984 at Tony Young's studio, in Christoval, TX. Tony is the producer, engineer, and becomes Blind Mississippi Driveway playing drums and bass. Raymond Guy LaFauci wrote this, is the vocalist, plays guitars and mandolin.
The song has been performed and played on the radio as I portrayed; Curtis Lee Zaaxe, the Lunch Brothers and Guy LaFauci.
Airplay started on KPFB's blues show in late '82. Initial playing may have been prompted by the urban legend that the song was recorded in Huntsville State Prison, TX (Execution Central of North America).
