The sun was barely up and I heard this handsome fella making a ruckus. He's a male Northern Flicker, my favorite woodpecker! They have exotic markings and an adorable personality. They call and drum on metal surfaces in the Spring, to announce their territory and attract a mate. Males have the black mustache, I call them Errol Flynn. 5/22 (Heard in the background is the beautiful song of an Oriole).
