This was the culmination of my 2-month solo journey (Tokyo, Thailand, Hong Kong, Shanghai)...... I was completely exhausted and unprepared for the new landscape and challenges that awaited me, as they contrasted everything I've done prior. I had merely 1 and 1/2 weeks to explore the southern island of New Zealand. But after stepping off the plane in Queenstown, I took in a big breath of that sweet New Zealand air and BAM, immediate adrenaline rush. I was completely invigorated but also at peace. This is how New Zealand makes you feel.

After a couple days in Queenstown, going on world-class hikes, and skydiving for the first time in my life, I rented a car and headed off to explore the south island, with the help of some new friends who helped my plan out my itinerary. I would enter a new city each day. My out-of-shape ass was hiking glaciers, mountains, forest trails for hours then immediately hopping in a car and driving to the next destination, sometimes 4-7 hours away.

The drives were fun, the scenery was constantly awe-inspiring; the freedom - liberating; the adventure - demanding, fueled by beef jerky, and tuna-in-a-bag (it's actually amazing).

This country leaves you with a full feeling of inspiration and freedom I haven't found anywhere else. Sometimes I would just stop the car in the middle of nowhere and run around in a field. I highly recommend it. I'm hoping to create a vlog documenting my experiencing in more detail soon.
