The first music video from Necessary Explosion’s debut album, SOS, directed by Gustav von Platen. A looping psychedelic journey of the soul all the way up to somewhere.

The video takes place inside a twisting tunnel that carries the soul from the body up to a sort of heaven, a spiritual place. Wondering what that place is, the point of our existence, and whether or not we will reunite with those we love is the human condition that can result in a kind of madness that never ends. This is why every scene is built as a loop to underscore the relentlessness of this type of insanity. There is beauty in it though, which is delivered as psychedelic interiors, if you will, of the artist’s mind. The overall feeling of floating through this examination is meant to create a mesmerizing effect that perhaps approximates the way a soul might travel. In the end, the song has a message of hope. That despite the ugliness that can occur in life, there is something very beautiful about the struggle going on inside. It is that struggle that makes life so interesting.
