This is one of four songs our students recorded in Martina McBride's personal studio, Blackbird Studios. This was an incredible and unique opportunity for our students. They were able to use state-of-the-art equipment, microphones, and instruments and hear stories about the many music legends who recorded there…legends like Queen, Jimmy Hendricks, the Beatles, Prince, and even Minnie Pearl. In groups of 12, they entered the studio and recorded their parts for these performances. It was like living a day in the life of a rock star! We had students from 2nd through 12th grade singing together – and not just chorus members and fine arts performers – the group included many of our athletes who have never performed before. The beauty of Nashville Christian School is how our students push out of their comfort zones to find new talents they never knew they had. And to watch them come together for a common goal is always a powerful manifestation of our school’s mission.
