For a project as part of my postgraduate degree, I took a music video and created a sound design for it. It is an adaptation of the genre of musicless music videos, with a comically sound design, created from what you can actually see and potentially hear in the original footage, when you take the music away.
I tried to capture the realistic scenes by imposing natural ambiences, while overdrawing the diegetic sounds just a little bit, to bring out the discomfort and comedic aspect of a music video without music. However, for the surrealistic scenes, I chose an unnatural electronic sound design to create a contrast to the rest of it.
