This luminous, pulsating, space-jellyfish responds to the music. This is the first result of an idea I've wanted to realise since the early 80's. In this lowish quality render (which took about 150 hours), each graphic component is driven by an individual instrument as described below.
The music is my remix of 'Help Me Somebody', a number from Byrne & Eno's 'My Life in the Bush of Ghosts' album. It features a sampled radio sermon as the lead voice. Byrne and Eno released the actual tracks of this song into the public domain. Kudos to David Byrne and Brian Eno for that!
I remixed seven of the original tracks to form this short 2 min compilation, and coupled each 'instrument' to a particular 3D construct like this:
1) Clav - outer plasma ring
2) Congas - radiating spokes of coloured luminous balls, high frequencies innermost
3) Finger Pick Guitar - central rose/yellow aurora
4) Jackson Guitar - outermost twisting yellow glass beads
5) Lead Voice - central plasma ball
6) Main Bass - Blue glass pointy buttons arranged in a ring
7) Stab Bass - turquoise, circularly arranged outward-stabbing glass icicles.
