We did a sound triggered light installation for MFAC 2019.
The keypad are pre-programmed with specific midi that triggers a reaction in a group of light bulbs when played. The lightbulbs are LED made to look like incandescent bulbs, which dim in and out when triggered. Having a smooth dimming of LED is the trickiest bit in this process. The flicker in the film is due to film rate, not the dimmer.
We used Arduino Uno, AC Dimmer modules (Banggood), Ableton, Max
