Morning Dew is a post-apocalyptic folk song written by Bonnie Dobson in 1964. The Grateful Dead have covered this song for years which is how I came to know it. A number of other artists have covered it as well, including Jeff Beck and Robert Plant who did more uptempo versions.
In the midst of everything that's happening in our country and the world right now, it seems such a sadly fitting song. I thought I would pair this cover with a photo montage that would serve as a public health statement regarding the coronavirus pandemic.
Be safe. Wear a mask. Social distance. Wash your hands. Want to be a real patriot? Look out for your fellow citizens. We're all we've got right now.
