About the piece:
The song is about four would be robbers who are planning a heist of some sort. The location and the establishment aren’t specified. Each character has their own personality, thoughts, flaws, and concerns. And their own self-interests. I really wanted to capture the anxieties and complexities leading up to the “Job”. I was clear about the intricacies and the meticulous planning. Of course, I added the wildcard in the form of Donahue, who is clearly the rockstar of the bunch with a number of vices. A theme that always seems to pop up in these heist movies. The song basically describes the whole journey up until the point where they attempt it.

When I heard the instrumental, produced by ICYTWAT, it felt cinematic to me. Dark synths with elements of Jungle or some of the electronica stuff coming out in the mid 90s in London. The keys build suspense, and the trap drums add the sense of enormity to the occasion. It just felt right. I love lyrical rap. I focused heavily on using metaphors, cadences and intricate rhymes to almost mirror the attention to detail of the plan.
