Used Houdini to visualize meteorites that have hit Earth in the past ~300 years.
Based on a dataset from The Meteoritical Society (meteoritical.org/).
Saved out a MIDI note for each impact event with Andrew Lowell's Houdini Music Tools (github.com/andrew-lowell/HMT), then MaxMSP to trigger the sounds. Loudness of each impact is driven by meteorite mass.
Rendered with Redshift. Animation driven by MOPs (motionoperators.com/).
