"...chilling, thrilling rawness." - Brian Schaefer, The New York Times

Lost Mountain is her unique opportunity to bring together 11 of her favorite renowned artists including Asaf Avidan, Ariel Freedman, Keir GoGwilt, Hsin-Yi Hsiang, Or Meir Schraiber, Evan Copeland, Nano Raies, Jesse Kovarsky, Coleman Itzkoff and Marta Miller to LaMaMa, May 16-19, 2019.

In order to make this dream happen we need your help to raise money for the travel, accommodation, and labor of our international and domestic collaborators. Our goal is to raise what is needed to bring this cast together. All contributions support the 11 artists during the creation and performance of Lost Mountain. Money beyond the 45K goal will go towards development and administrative fees to help Bobbi Jene's work reach a wider audience.

Lost Mountain presents Bobbi Jene’s most ambitious and large-scale work to date, and will only be possible with your support!

About LOST MOUNTAIN

Lost Mountain is comprised of 11 scenes and 11 artists. Lost Mountain is the place we find ourselves when we are lost.

Following her critically acclaimed works, A Study on Effort and With Care (both in collaboration with violinist/writer Keir GoGwilt), Lost Mountain continues to connect musicians and dancers through dialogues of rhythm, gesture, and song, creating abstract and emotionally visceral narratives. A Study on Effort focused on the physical and emotional efforts of individual bodies; With Care investigates the dynamics of caregiving and receiving between individuals; Lost Mountain expands the frame to map tectonic shifts and forces onto the human condition.

This work takes inspiration from the slow-moving, catastrophic, and sublime machinations of geological forces. Just as a mountain emerges from collisions of the Earth’s crust, individual and group identity is fractured and bound together by often invisible, subterranean forces. What appears singular and unmovable is in constant flux; what appears individual and self-determining is collective and inherited.

Lost Mountain disorients us to find ourselves again... ... ... .
