BACKGROUND /
Life Beyond Earth is an immersive film created in collaboration with Skidmore, Owings and Merrell, and the European Space Agency for their powerful new installation at the 17th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia. Glasgow based studio Playdead were tasked with creating a photorealistic full 3D CG film in response to the central theme “How will we live together?”
APPROACH /
A powerful blend of orchestral and electro-acoustic elements were fused to score a new chapter of humanity. We wanted to capture the scale of wonder, the determination to advance and the apogee of exploration that is involved in colonising another planetary body. The sonic narrative evolves from establishing the moon as the subject of curiosity and builds through hope and courage, resolving with the grand achievement of a functioning moon village.
