“We had a blast as a family. Watching my daughter hear live music for the first time was the most beautiful experience. Such a beautiful memory we will cherish forever” - a mom from our community

Wayo, our Second annual children’s festival that was held August 19-21, 2021 was designed so that family members experienced a surprise at each corner.

Watch as we take you through our over 7 artistic stations that entertained over 300 people and families from our community!

In order of appearance:
1) Corpus Dance Projects’ “Les Mouton”
2) A henna station lead by Fathiya Hassen & women from our community
3) Aerialists Eman Hillawi, Alexandra Legendre & Tahnee Reyes and violinists Saraphina Violin and Veronica Lee
4) “Giraffe-ardy” with Kristi Heath (Heath Tarlin Entertainment Inc.)
5) Drumming by Sergio Xocolate & Suzanne Roberts Smith (Xocô Music) and opera by Jonelle Sills
6) Flamenco by Carmen Romero and Cello by George Crotty
7) West African drumming and dance by Lua Shayenne and Cécé Haba
A finale ride on our Kisanii Hub
9) Lastly a book for each child

All lead by our amazing “Ring Masters” who carefully guided everyone though while stamping the kids’ “passports”!

Again we'd like to think our supporters and partners that made our vision come to light for the enjoyment of The Esplanade:
The Berkeley Castle, Canadian Stage, Canada Council for the Arts, Government of Ontario, and Indigo, Love of Reading Foundation

Thank you to our staff & extended team including: Isorine Marc, Jasmin Linton, DeeAnn Hagler Sagar, Amye Sagar, Cynthia Ruso, Isin 'Iris' Unlu
Ring Masters: Afnan, Tereka, Asmaa, Maha, Alysha, Akram, Ammar, Usama, Rayan, Maram & Anhar.

All staff at Canadian Stage, lead by Leslie Hernandez, who helped us onsite.
