This is an introduction to a film that hasn’t been made yet, or rather one still very much in progress. In this film I hope to explore my brother Gabriel Mitchell's 20-year struggle with schizophrenia and eventual suicide, through the lens of his own camera, his artwork, music, screenplays, poetry and interviews with those whose lives he touched. This film will be co-authored by my brother as well as dedicated to him… and to everyone who lives with mental illness, whose stories are so often dismissed as delusion and whose magnificence cannot be diagnosed.
