The remix of this song is currently in its final stages and one of my favourites from my catalogue of work.
This is one of the first 5 songs I ever wrote.
In One Day was written about a married couple I knew and from what it looked like on the outside, nothing could have seemed more perfect. Living in a small suburban country town with 4 beautiful children, this marriage from a fairytale seemed to have to all together.
When I received the news their divorce had been finalised I couldn’t believe it. The family that made me believe fairytales can come true, had broken up.
As the story unfolded before more, it appears everything had just unraveled.
No one saw it coming.
Lyrics; “People ask me why”, is from the perspective of the couple. That’s all I can imagine they would have been asked. How could this have happened ? It just all seemed so perfect.
The song as a whole is about how complicated divorce and separation can be.
How do you navigate something that was never in anyone’s plans?
In One Day, you’re married and In One Day it can end.
