Social AI companions exhibit the capacity to learn from input, replicate features often stored in human beings, and pass as human. This experiment explores the rise of technologies that attempt to turn interpersonal relationship features, like companionship, love and friendship, and turn it into deliverable supplies on demand. Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Delta, the four participating AI companion bots for this project, could understand which emotions to express and how to behave in specific situations thanks to advanced computational processes. They were paired with each other in a machine-to-machine interaction for 15 sessions, and this is what happened.
